Hence the origin of the name, La Traiana. As well as the ancient roots of its name, the Fattoria also preserves the procedures, practices and workmanship handed down over time, and now renewed by the Gigante family, owners of the Fattoria since the early 1960s.

Set in the heart of Tuscany, on the slopes of Pratomagno, the Fattoria La Traiana is located within the district of the same name in the municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini.  La Traiana is 120 hectares of land, mostly at an altitude of 1000 feet above sea level, with a favorable south, south-eastern exposure.  Centered around a nineteenth-century Villa, the chapel and two old farmhouse buildings have been carefully renovated, respecting the original structures and materials while restoring them to new life.

The Fattoria La Traiana has been following European organic farming methods for years, and is now certified in accordance with the USDA National Organic Program.
